This year's many updates in the AOU checklist have been published. The ABA's summary is at http://blog.aba.org/2015/07/2015-aou-supplement-is-out.html , and the entire text covering the western hemisphere can be found at http://www.aoucospubs.org/doi/pdf/10.1642/AUK-15-73.1 There are the usual shufflings in the order, and some new species in N. America, the most familiar of which involves the addition of the Egyptian Goose, which is becoming familiar in Florida. There are a lot of changes in the nomenclature, the only one of which that affects Ohio is a new generic name for the Am. tree sparrow, which has changed from Spizella to Spizelloides; this determination was made based on genetic work done by a scientist many Ohioans know as a birder here formerly--Dave Slager.
