I birded the mudflats at the peat ponds on Wilderness Rd today from 9:15-11:30am. I met Bruce Parker and Virgil Troyer there and we watched the shorebirds together. The ponds are dying up quite a bit with the dry weather, but there is still lots of good habitat. There were a fair number of shorebirds there and we found 9 species. We looked hard for the stilt sandpipers reported recently, but did not see them. List below was from the ponds and surrounding roadways. Randy Rowe, Wooster DC Cormorant - 12 Gr. Bl.
