I birded the mudflats at the peat ponds on Wilderness Rd today from
9:15-11:30am. I met Bruce Parker and Virgil Troyer there and we watched the
shorebirds together. The ponds are dying up quite a bit with the dry
weather, but there is still lots of good habitat. There were a fair number
of shorebirds there and we found 9 species. We looked hard for the stilt
sandpipers reported recently, but did not see them.
