Shreve Fishpond is a private pond on hwy 226 north of Shreve, directly across from the entrance to Wright Marsh of the Killbuck WA. It has now been drained and is perfect shorebird habitat at present. There have been several recent reports of over 100 white-rumped sandpipers, so I checked it out this morning from 8:30-10:30. It was quite foggy when I arrived, but slowly cleared off. There were an amazing number of white-rumped sandpipers there, at least 75, but perhaps more. Species diversity was not high, but numbers were pretty good. Accurate counts were difficult, so these are conservative estimates.
