At the north end of the lake at Buck Creek State Park we saw a few shorebirds on the mudflats including 2 Wilson's Snipe, 2 Pectoral Sandpipers, and 3 Lesser Yellowlegs. There were also two Franklin's Gulls and a Bonaparte's Gull. You get to this area from Grant Road. There is a gate. Walk past the gate to the trail grass trail leading north. After passing the last Bald Cypress, look for a little trail leading to the lake near the Osprey post. From there you can see the mudflats but the birds can be rather far away.
