On
a cold, drizzly bird walk at Lake Metroparks’ Lake Erie Bluffs this morning,
amongst the hordes of Song, White-throated and White-crowned Sparrows we had
one very pale (leucistic?) sparrow was seen mixing with the flocks. It was mostly hanging out with White-crowned
and the pattern that could be seen under the white suggested it too is a
White-crowned Sparrow. An interesting
bird if you are one who likes to see color mutations. It flew off before a picture could be taken.
