Hello All, Yesterday, a couple of us birded from Bridgeport down to Marietta and back on the Ohio, and we had a pretty good day: Bald Eagle - 2 adults in Bellaire American Kestrel - 8 on the way down, 5 on the way back, and at least a few of the 'way back' ones had to be new Double-crested Cormorants - 25-30, from 3+ locations Red-shouldered Hawk - 5, all further south, including 2 calling the the trees at the Bird Watcher's Digest office Yellow-rumped Warbler - 1 at BWD Pied-billed Grebe - 4 on Mud Lane, just below St. Marys; 9 at Hannibal just above the dam Hooded Merganser - 3M, 2F at Mud Lane Gadwall - 1 at Mud Lane Peregrine Falcon - On the St. Marys Bridge Common Merganser - 1 on the river, between St. Marys and Hannibal Common Loon - 1 on the river, between St. Marys and Hannibal, maybe 200-300 yards north of the COME Bufflehead - 3M, 2F at Hannibal above the dam Ring-necked Duck - 14 at the first creek inlet just above Hannibal Dam American Coot - 8 at the first creek inlet just above Hannibal Dam European Starling - just below Bellaire, a 'murmuration' of 10-15K starlings, swirling like a tornado, then a huge ball Ryan Tomazin - Bridgeville, PA ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
