Bill's link regarding chickadees should serve as a reminder for birders to maybe not take it as given that any chickadee seen north of certain areas are automatically Black-capped Chickadees. For the last several years, I've heard that the dividing line is Route 30, but now I wonder if that's really true anymore. During the ABA-sponsored bird walk at the American Birding Expo in Columbus last year, the leader called out a black-capped chickadee and was surprised when I told him you only found those in the northern third of the state now.
