Today, Wednesday, from about 12:15 PM to about 12:30PM, after a short ten minute wait, we succeeded in finding our ABA Life Bird #703 at the previously described location west of Allardale County Park on Remson Road. To achieve this goal we drove 20 hours, 1085 miles, from Clearwater, Florida. This is, I believe, Ohio's second Brambling sighting, the first, near this same location in Summit County, back in March of 1987. Amazingly, we had this rarity to ourselves, no other birders. A nice variety of other birds were present, with highlights including Fox Sparrow, Rusty Blackbird, and Purple Finch.
