This evening a near immaculate-white Snowy Owl was sitting on short light posts a few feet off the ground immediately south of the 100th Bomb Group Restuarant at Hopkins. As documented and seen by many folks this past week, a heavily marked immature bird is present at the airport as well. There are two Snowy Owls at Hopkins, now. At 5:32 p.m. I saw two Short-eared Owls in flight, just north of the IX Center, viewed at a distance from the Restaurant. SCOPE absolutely required as is very very intense, patient and slow scanning in limited and waning light conditions. Note that Red-tailed Hawks and Northern Harrier are also present.
