Again, sharing my best newbie attempt,

While driving north on Dublin road today (1:30) , as I passed over Twin
lakes, I spotted a Double-crested Cormorant (approx. 20 yards in front of
me) passing over the bridge heading east. This is what I noted....very
large, all black, clearly defined elongated kinked neck and orange lore's.



Then I thought I would do a quick run up to DWA around 7 before the sun
set. Viewed from the dike on the Southside of Panhandle road I witnessed a
Sandhill Crane land on the far west wetland area. With scope I was able to
see the red crown, the neck was straight and the body was mostly rusty in
color. I will add some pics to my Flickr page, though not the best pic
since the lighting was fading fast and quite far off.
