A reminder: this species is not on the state lists of Indiana, Illinois, or Michigan; observers in Ontario and Pennsylvania have records. So the Cleveland bird is remarkable, and it is likely the Records Committee will validate it. Someone suggested that this individual may have hitch-hiked on a lake freighter to get here; this is the best explanation I've heard for such an appearance for a salt-water bird.
