A quick sprint down the bikepath of this Columbus migrant trap this morning found a good wave of temperate migrants with a few early neotropicals. The list included: Chimney Swifts Swallows - Tree, Rough-winged Barn House Wrens - 6+ Gnatcatchers - one of the most common birds, 25+ Ruby-cr.Kinglets - 4 Brown Thrasher - 1 Warbling Vireo - 1 singing Yellow-rumped Warblers - the most common migrant, 50+ Palm Warblers - 3 Pine Warbler Yellow Warbler Yellow-throated Warbler Nashville Warbler Sparrows - Field, Chipping, Song, White-throateds (25+) An Osprey was soaring & calling over the river, and one Bald Eagle was on the nest, so it was a very productive hour. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
