Common Loons seem to be dropping into various ponds as they're migrating through. This morning I found a loon in our backyard retention pond (Sheffield Village, Lorain County). Best of birding to you! Patty McKelvey Sent from my iPhone Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! It is the pond that is further south. I could see a Common Loon from the street. I pulled in and could see it partially submerged with his head underwater most of the time feeding after 3pm. > I returned today much earlier and the Loon was still in there around 11:50am. This pond is pretty long so I don't think he will have a problem getting out of there. > Usually this place only has Geese and Mallards - very infrequently I have seen Hooded Mergansers during migration. > > Nancy AndersonRichmond Heights > I > > ______________________________________________________________________ > > Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society. > Please consider joining our Society, at www.ohiobirds.org/site/membership.php. > Our thanks to Miami University for hosting this mailing list. > > > You can join or leave the list, or change your options, at: > listserv.miamioh.edu/scripts/wa.exe?LIST=OHIO-BIRDS > Send questions or comments about the list to: [log in to unmask] ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
