I checked out the Highbanks pet trail around 1 pm today. A couple of warblers were calling, but I only recognized the hooded warbler. I saw a female redstart and a magnolia, but the big surprise was a blue grosbeak. He was past the dip that occurs about 1/8 mile into the trail, eating worms, but he flew toward the new walking path. I also heard and saw an indigo bunting, but this other blue bird was definitely a male blue grosbeak. Gray bill, wing feathers outlined in rust, more slender, elongated shape. First for me in Ohio.
