I'm still in disbelief of today.  The day started out slower than anticipated at the Magee Boardwalk but things sure changedfor the better.
After about 4 hours word spread that a Kirtlands Warbler was confirmed at the east end of the board walk. Bob and Denise Lane and I arrived within minutes only to receive a notification of a Curlew Sandpiper to the west.
Within minutes the Kirtlands was abandoned and at least half of Ohio's birders left for the sky pond holding the rarity.
The 50 minute drive seemed like an eternity but when we arrived the beautiful bird was within easy view. What a unbelievable find and congrats goes out to everyone who updated the Ohio birders of this super rarity.
We then returned to Magee and the Kirtlands continued to put on a show into the evening.
This is a day I will never forget. Ohio birding at it's best.
