Saturday, added a pair of Bonapartes gulls, one w/ black head (summer?), other w/ white head & black smudges, which my field guide describes as winter. Both had black bills. They were swimming within about 10 yards of me. Sunday, no special gulls, but a bald eagle was soaring over the lake, landed in a tree on the east side, was mobbed by a small flock of gulls. Seen both days: d.c. cormorants, common loon, barn & tree swallows, Canada geese, mallards. Neighborhood is thick with robin, cardinal, w.b. nuthatch, tufted titmouse, gold- & house-finch, occasional chimney swift.
