On this rugged weather May 14th Saturday morning, to add excitement hope to the birders attending "The Biggest Week In American Birding", six years ago today, the most cooperative ever male Kirtland's Warbler, was at East Beach most of the day, giving hundreds of birders a not to be forgotten memory, with close-up views. Amazingly one week later on May 21st, another gorgeous male was at basically the same location for the day. The May 14th, 2010 celebrity was the only Kirtland's Warbler we have ever had the opportunity to photograph while singing, it kicking back its head and singing up a storm, showing off its bright lemon yellow chest. These two show stopping beauties made themselves available to birders most of those days. Unfortunately, the location at East Beach where all this hoop-la took place, has now been declared OFF LIMITS! With the present LIFE BIRD to almost everyone, Curlew Sandpiper, creating birding thrills an hour to the west, keep in mind that rarities can be found any day, in any weather, at the most unsuspecting location. Start looking!
