Battell Darby area--Kulhwein Rd., Darby Dan sod fields on Darby Creek Rd., Teal Marsh. American Bittern - 2 flying south over Teal, one continued out of sight the other dropped into the marsh; 0645 Grackles (Red-wings, Starlings) - 11,000 mostly Grackles Numeros shorebirds in fields off N Kulhwein and Darby Dan sod fields.; 8 - 1030am. There were small to large pools in both places. Shorebirds spread out. Scope need for alll but Killdeer and the few closest species. American Golden plover (moulting ad.) 17 Kuhlwein Rd Killdeer 560 Semipalm plover 9 juv. Lesser yellowlegs 90 (80 % juv.) Greater Yellowlegs 2 juv. Kulhwein Rd. Solitary sandpiper 38 (many juv., mostly at Darby Dan) Spotted Sandpiper 20 (16 juv., 4 ad.) Darby Dan Semipalmated Sandpiper 8 juv. Darby Dan Least sandpiper 20 juv. Pectoral sandpiper 28 (60 % juv.) Short-billed Dowitcher (prob. hendersonii) 9 juv. Darby Dan Wilson's Phalorope 7 juv.
