A Fall colors hike through the Fern Trail, Hemlock Trail, and Creekside Trail found muted colors and mixed birds. No neotropicals are left here, but some temperate migrants were noticeable. The breakdown of who was up & who was down included:

Vultures - plenty, including 2 Black Vultures along with the many TVs
Hawks - a pair of Red-tailed over the Starner Road parking area, but little else
Woodpeckers - lots of Red-bellied, with 10 in 2 hours. Fewer Downies, Hairies, and Flickers, plus 1 Pileated calling south of the Starner Lot. no Red-headed, but oaks don't have many acorns here.

Wrens - few Carolinas and no Winters in 2 hours
Kinglets - lots of Golden-crowns in the hemlock groves (16+), but no Ruby-crowns
Hermit Thrushes - at least 4 in four different locations
Sparrows - only a few, and all the expected (Field, Song, White-throated)
Blackbirds - only a few grackles along US 33
Finches - hardly any
