With the two feet of snow that fell Thursday night and into today, the bird feeders have been increasingly busy - of most interest, is not the presence of anything rare, but the return of several species.
Pileated woodpeckers have not been feeding at the suet since last spring (not sure why, usually we host a summer family), but have been here pretty much nonstop all day today. Also returning winter birds include two carolina wrens and several tree sparrows. Like the change in seasons, the change in birds at the feeders is interesting to observe. Not earth shattering, but pleasantly interesting.

Other than that, all the usual suspects are here in force.
