I had a chance to watch hawks moving this afternoon from my yard in Madison. It was cloudy here until after noon. I did not get started right away so I missed a quite a few. I live around 600 feet from the lake and they were flying just south of the house. Of note was an adult golden eagle that passed over around 3:45 heading east. I also had 321 broad-winged hawks, including one flock of 180+. I did not make an exact count on things like vultures, but here are some totals. Turkey vulture 350+ Osprey 1 Northern Harrier 1 Sharp-shinned hawk 22 Red-tailed hawk 6 Broad-winged hawk 321 GOLDEN EAGLE 1 adult John Pogacnik ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
