A major research project is underway to collect data about the endangered Kirtland's Warbler using eBird. http://ebird.org/content/ebird/kirtlands/ The research is being conducted in Ohio Friday, May 5, to Sunday, June 4. To facilitate this research new temporary hotspots have been added to eBird throughout Ohio using the format: KIWA-OH-Survey-001 Volunteers are sought to visit these locations. Please sign up with eBird if you are interested. See the linked article about how to do this. If you are using eBird you will note that the temporary survey locations appear throughout Ohio at popular birding locations including Magee Marsh and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. Please do not use these temporary hotspots if you have not signed up to participate in the survey. There is a special protocol to use with checklists at the research locations. If you are not participating in the survey, use the regular hotspots to submit your checklists.
