I didn't see Rob Thorn's post of his trip to Clear Creek until I got back tonight.

I did a long day down & back today--I was on a mission to at least hear but hopefully see a Kentucky Warbler (I missed it early in the spring at Clear Creek & Zaleski) so I could sweep the Eastern Warblers this year, something I never thought about doing but after seeing the CT at Magee, all I needed was a trip to MI for the Kirtland's (check) & the KY.

Mission accomplished! Even tho I didn't get to Clear Creek until 9:15, I heard a couple KYs singing near the Tulip & Prairie trails where I've had luck in the past but didn't see one. I birded some other areas incl Lk Logan for general birding but returned to Clear Creek in late afternoon. Heard singing then a loud chip closer. 2 KYs flew from one low dense patch of undergrowth to another across the trail, then one came out to the trail edge briefly.

I wasn't after a big list since I was concentrating on the KY but I saw or heard most of the birds Rob did incl hearing the Hermit Warbler singing. I dipped on Yellow-throated & Worm-eating Warblers, tho & the Veery.

I did get all 4 vireos incl great looks at Blue-headed.

Saw 3 hen Wood Ducks each with ducklings of various ages at Lk Logan.
