JULY 01, 2017 - CUYAHOGA VALLEY MONTHLY TOWPATH TRAIL CENSUS. HIKE: Towpath Trail from Red Lock Trailhead south to Merriman Valley, including stops at Trail Mix in Peninsula and Szalay's Farm Market. TIME: 6:00am - 3:20pm TEMP.: 66 ~ 86 ~ 85 COND.: Cloudy and overcast with a front from the west; light mist falling intermittently from 10:35am to 12:35pm; clouds/sun mix rest of day, turning very warm late and S/SW breezes. TRAIL COND.: Wet, soggy, many puddles and standing water from yesterday and overnight thunderstorms. RIVER COND.: High, swift, and muddy, few exposed rock and sandbars from yesterday and overnight thunderstorms; all small creeks and runs fast-flowing to the Cuyahoga River.
