Between 6:30 at 7 PM, on my usual stroll along the quiet streets of the Akron suburb of Fairlawn, I happened to look up and spot a migrating nighthawk, then 2 more. Then 50 more over the next 20 minutes. Total 53 counted, no doubt there were more before I saw the first one. They all flew from west to east, in about as direct a fashion as nighthawks ever fly, definitely not feeding behavior, and they remained silent. I was able to point them out to two neighbors, who had never noticed such birds before.
