DELAWARE COUNTY BIRD CLUB 2017-18 PROGRAM LINE-UP The Delaware County Bird Club meetings and program presentations take place on the fourth Monday of each month, September through April, except in November and December when they are held on alternate days to accommodate the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Meetings are held in the lodge at Deer Haven Preserve at 4183 Liberty Road, Delaware OH, 43015. Doors open at the new time of 6:30 PM and programs begin at 7:00 PM and will be followed by reports of local bird sightings and socializing. Guests always welcome! Marne Titchenell, Wildlife Program Specialist, The Ohio State University Extension. Bats are fascinating and very beneficial critters to have around, despite their spooky reputation. We will dispel the myths surrounding bats, discuss how they help us, and how we can help them as they face a very deadly disease called white-nose syndrome. Marne Titchenell received her B.S. and M.S. in wildlife management and forestry from The Ohio State University. She has gained experience working as a biological and wildlife technician for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and USDA Forest Service. She has also worked as a naturalist for the Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks where she developed a passion for environmental education. In late 2007, Marne accepted her current position as the Wildlife Program Specialist, with the Ohio State University Extension within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. She works to provide a variety of educational programs, workshops, conferences and publications centered on wildlife ecology and biology, habitat management for wildlife and managing nuisance wildlife species.
