Early migrants continue to dribble through in central Ohio. A quick afternoon visit yesterday to southern Hoover Reservoir and nearby Inniswood MetroPark found some early migrants along the reservoir, including Lesser Scaup - flock of 100 off Walnut St boat launch Mergansers - 45+ Red-breasteds off Hoover Dam, smaller #s of Hoodeds in many spots Grebes - a few Horned Grebes off both the boat ramp and the dam Cormorants - the vanguard groups were 2 off the boat ramp and 13 circling over the dam Gulls - good #s at the dam included 100 Ring-bills, 8-10 Herring, and 1 Bonapartes Pileated Woodpecker - 1 male drumming along the forest loop path in Inniswood Tree Swallows - small #s at both the boat ramp and the dam E.Bluebirds - singing singles at all 3 locations (but yesterday was something to sing about) ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
