Hello!

Magee Marsh and surrounding areas (Lucas & Ottawa Co) were jamming with Warblers today. All along the boardwalk birds were working high, eye level, and low. It was truly a spectacle and definitely the best it’s been in my own experience. We had 24 species of Warblers today, including Golden-winged.

We also checked out Howard’s Marsh (just west of Metzger) and saw the thousands of Golden Plovers and Dunlin that were resting there. In a decade from now, it may be one of the best spots in Ohio for shorebirds and ducks. Kudos to those who worked hard to make that happen.

Now, we’ll watch for the second wave of migration as the winds crank up from the South and Southwest in the coming week.

Happy birding!
