I spent 5 of the last 7 days in these areas In the beginning there were 15 different Migrant Warblers as well as the 20 Breeding Warblers There remains a Mourning Warbler that has Been singing on the same spot for over 10 days For more info on the 20 Breeding Warblers go to eBird Hot Spots Zaleski State Forest for their specific habitats Highlights R Grouse- drumming Chuck-wills-widow- foraging in the limestone along the side of the road Orchard Oriole- carrying nest material Red-tailed-carrying food- fox squirrel Kentucky Warbler-both male and female perched on a horizontal branch- facing each other The male begins fluttering his wings and body as the pair slightly touches beaks This behavior is repeated a few times then they mated Prothonotary Warbler- mating Pairs foraging together Warblers Prairie Hooded Cerulean Rose-breasted Grosbeak Other sightings Turkeys Cuckoos Black-billed Yellow-billed Orioles Baltimore Orchard Tanagers Scarlet Summer Woodpeckers Pileated Red-headed Hawks Red-shouldered Red-tailed Woodcock Olive-sided Flycatcher Great Crested Flycatcher Bruce Simpson- Nature Photographer Sent from my iPhone ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
