While running errands this morning, I stopped by Carriage Place
Park. This pocket park, immediately north of Carriage Place Mall
at Bethel Rd and Sawmill, is largely an expanse of fescue with
playground equipment and a tennis court. It has no water
features and relatively few trees. I observed a handful of the
usual backyard city birds, but nothing more exotic than a
singing chipping sparrow.
I suspect any prothonotary warbler that found itself in such a
place would relocate as soon as possible.
Happy birding. This weekend should be great!
Cheers,
Paul Gardner
