I took a long lunch and went up to Hoover after getting a report on the
Little Blue Heron this morning. It was feeding to the east of the end of the
boardwalk, in the little cove that is between the boardwalk and Area M (or
is it N?). Shorebird numbers and diversity was low overall, although I
didn't spend a lot of time looking. The species I observed were Least,
Semipalmated, and Pectoral Sandpipers; Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs; and
Killdeer. There were a couple people fishing on the edge of the creek that
feeds into Hoover, which may have spooked some birds away.
