After noticing a lot of activity at my feeders at home, I decided to hike
the pet trail at Highbanks this afternoon from ~3 to 4:30 PM where the birds
were just as active. The three most numerous species seen were Robins (150+),
White-Throated Sparrows (75+), and Yellow-Rumped Warblers (75+). Other birds
seen and/or heard included the following:
Orange-Crowned Warbler-great looks at 1 in and out of the Goldenrod near the
water fountain
Palm Warbler-mixed in with a flock of Yellow-Rumpeds
Tennessee Warbler-mixed in with another flock of Yellow-Rumpeds
Ruby-Crowned Kinglet-4
Golden-Crowned Kinglet-3
Fox Sparrow
White-Crowned Sparrow
Swamp Sparrow-2
Song Sparrow-15
Field Sparrow-6+
House Wren-2
Carolina Wren-3
Cedar Waxwing-5
Northern Flicker-6
Eastern Towhee-4
Downy, Hairy, and Red-Bellied Woodpeckers
Chickadees, Goldfinches, Titmice, Cardinals. WB Nuthatches. Crows, Blue
