Hi all,
I got out all morning with a bunch of folks focused on banding sparrows down
at Deer Creek Wildlife Area in Pickaway County. Sparrows are really moving
through central Ohio now, and conspicuous were many White-crowneds. While we
didn't manage to catch any of the rarer species like Nelson's Sharp-tailed
or Le Conte's, we did see a nice variety. This is a great time of year to be
out checking old fields and wetlands.
If you can't get out, you can view some close-up shots of a number of
sparrows that we captured and banded today on my blog - URL in the signature
line below.
