Many thanks to Liz and Linda, who directed us to the places for best viewing
of the Short-Eared Owls, Rough-legged Hawks and Harriers. The Fowls Road
site was particularly great, with both Harriers and SE Owls hunting in the
fields by the first house. At one point, a Harrier tried to steal a mouse
(?) from a SE owl, and they spiraled quite high over the house before the
Harrier finally gave up the chase.
Also seen at the insurance site were Horned Larks, Eastern Meadowlarks, Bald
Eagle (at a distance near the last lighted runway marker) and we heard a
woodcock peenting as well. A great evening out, in the company of some
really great birds.
Cheers... Bob
