On an off-trail jaunt up a ravine of an unnamed tributary of Salt Run in
Cuyahoga Valley National Park this afternoon, I came across the largest
flock of Eastern Bluebirds I've yet had this winter season in the park.
There were 7 males feeding together, stunningly beautiful against the
still brilliantly white snow. Other highlights beyond the usual suspects
included 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 2 Golden-crowned Kinglets, and 2
Pileated Woodpeckers.
