Went to the CVNP early this morning for some birding. At the Happy Days Visitor Center area, there was a Louisiana Waterthrush singing almost constantly from the stream that runs through there. Also of note were two Black-throated Green Warblers, one of which was singing quite vigorously as well. Also observed an Eastern Phoebe in the process of making a nest.
Afterwards, I went to Deep Lock Quarry. Highlights here included multiple singing Yellow-throated Warblers and Blue-headed Vireos. Many Blue-gray Gnatcatchers were observed, as well as a Brown Creeper and two Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers.
