Today I counted 92 Tree Swallows working the waves right up next to the
seawall in front of Perry's Victory in one small area. There were about
another 30 up further on the corner of Route 357. There were also 2 Barn
Swallows with the bunch. Very cool and windy today.
Red-breasted Mergansers, Lesser Scaup, and Bufflehead were all present at
the East Point turnaround and in front of Perry's. Saw 3 different Belted
Kingfishers-one flew right over my house (I am inland from the lake.)
Turkey Vultures continue to hang around the beaches-counted 20 on the east
side of Perry's today. Have continued to see large numbers roosted in the
trees between the School and the Catholic Church in the mornings. Over 100
birds one morning.
