The lake was kind of slow today. There had been a lot more mergansers
around. Today they just weren't moving around. Three lesser and 1 greater
yellowlegs were nice flybys.
The feeders were interesting this weekend. On Friday I had a PINE WARBLER
and the my first rose-breasted grosbeak as well as over 200 white-throated
sparrows. On Saturday there were few white-throated sparrows and the pine
warbler didn't show up. Today there was a single common redpoll that stayed
about two minutes. there were also several hundred American goldfinches and
a couple pine siskins. Other new arrivals were ruby-throated hummingbird
and orchard and Baltimore oriole. Also of note were a flock of 26 chipping
sparrows. There were about 80+ white-throated sparrows around today also.
