2 redpolls were at my nyger seed this morning in Northern Wyandot Co. Also a big increase in House Finch and a high total of 5 Song sparrows for the winter. A few White throated sparrows still remain at my feeders, along with a roosting gray phase Screech owl in my front maple tree.
A young male Sharp shinned hawk buzzed them all earlier, and the redpolls didn't return for now.
I checked cemeteries in Marion and Bucyrus yesterday with no luck with crossbills, but I feel this year any cone producing conifer is a good canidate for them!
