Colleague and supernaturally eagle-eyed Jen Brumfield and I headed out of
the office for some lakefront birding early this afternoon while the sun was
still out.
Location: Avon Lake power plant

Highlights:
Ring-billed Gull - abundant
Herring Gull - abundant
ICELAND GULL - (4 total) one adult, at least three 1st-winter birds
GLAUCOUS GULL - (4 total) at least two adults, at least two 1st-winter
birds
THAYER'S GULL - one stunning adult
Lesser Black-backed Gull - one adult
Great Black-backed Gull - nearly 200
Canvasback - at least 500
Common Merganser - 1
Ring-necked Duck, Redhead, Lesser and Greater Scaup, Bufflehead,
American Black Duck, Common Merganser, Mute Swan
