I spent most of the morning scouting spots for the OBBA2 along this Creek between Circleville and I-71. The floodplain is wider here than areas further upstream, but the area is more intensively farmed so the riparian strip is thinner. Some birds of note:
Turkey Vultures - everywhere along the creek. They seem to be slowly creeping northward
Kestrels - surprisingly common along back road farm fields; I must have seen 8-10 in a few hours.
Osprey - 1 sitting in a tree near the bridge where St.104 crosses Darby Creek
Great Horned Owl - sitting on a distant nest just south of the village of Darbydale
Rough-winged Swallows - my first of the Spring, flying around a small airfield in the town of Fox
Golden-cr.Kinglet - nowhere abundant, but widespread. I even found them in isolated stands of trees.
Vesper Sparrows - singing in several different locations
