If you are in the vicinity of Cincinnati tomorrow, you are invited to attend
the banding of two Great Horned Owlets at Rapid Run Park.
Jeff Hays of RAPTOR, Inc will band the young Great Horned Owls at Rapid Run
Park on Saturday morning, April 3rd, at 8am. This is a great opportunity to
see, and photograph the process, up-close and personal. The last time this
pair successfully bred, about 3 years ago, a crowd of about 35 people shared
in the experience including many "rapturous" small children.
Rapid Run Park is on the Westside of Cincinnati. The owl bucket is near the
shelterhouse, and you can see the shelterhouse from the parking lot, so we'll
be easy to find once you arrive at the park.
Rapid Run Park is off of Rapid Run Road (the section between Queen City Avenue
and Glenway Avenue).
Here's a mapquest link to the park.
