Magee Marsh:
Coots - 10
Tree swallows - 3
Golden-crowned kinglets - 3
Brown creeper - 2
Redbellied woodpecker - 1
Flicker - 1
Killdeer - 2
Forgot to take counts: Robins, song sparrows, turkey vultures, geese,
red-winged blackbirds
Also mourning cloak butterfly, tiny moths, spiders, beetles, 6 basking
turtles, and a mosquito
Toussaint Wildlife Area:
(Kestrel on the way - 1)
- Eagle nest, with 3 mature bald eagles: One on side of nest, one in tree
above nest, one flying near nest then resting on a tree ~200' away.
Wood ducks - 2
Hooded mergansers - 2
Ringneck ducks - 5
Widgeons - 2
Phoebe - 1
Carolina wren - 1
Tree swallows - 5
Red tailed hawk - 1
Mallards - 2
Downy woodpecker - 1
Goldfinch - 1
Cardinal - 1
Killdeer - 1
Geese - 4
Ring-billed gull - 1
Turkey vultures - 7
Robins - 3
Mourning doves - 2
Song sparrows X (heard more than saw)
Red-wings XX+
Plus wood, cricket, and green frogs
Ottawa:
Shovelers - 3
Great egret - 1
Great blue heron - 1
Ottawa - Stange Road:
Indigo bunting - 1
Harriers - 2
Common mergansers - 3
Immature bald eagle - 1
Cowbirds - 2
Shovelers - 4
Field sparrow (pretty sure) - 1
Ducks in distance could have been blue-wing teal - 6 (White spot on rear,
couldn't make out faces. Maybe more widgeons?)
Geese - 6
Song sparrows X

Driving away - Toussaint Road(s):
Rusty blackbirds - XX (mixed flock with grackles - XX, red-wings - XX)
Starlings - 2
Eagle - 1 (on Rte 2)
