I made a quick run through several sites along the west shore of this Delaware County reservoir - stopping at Cheshire causeway, Hollenback marina, and the dam - and came up with the same results found by Al La Sala several days ago. Gulls were scattered all along the reservoir - mostly Ring-bills, but a few Herring thrown in, but there were zero waterfowl. Landbirds were also scarce, although 2 sapsuckers around the Cheshire boat launch and a Pipit on the grassy berm by the dam were interesting finds. Also poignant were several butterflies - Clouded Sulphurs and Buckeyes - flying around the warm, grassy slope of the dam, searching for the last few flowers of their lifetimes.
