I was delighted to see a sizeable flock of COMMON REDPOLLS in the
lakecliff alders at the cart turnaround of the main path at Mentor
Lagoons. I appreciate the posting a week ago. Someone has been leaving
deer corn along the path, and we were followed back by a very short-eared
doe, who was literally on our heels. Seven other does followed at a more
cautious distance.
Mentor Lagoons is just off Lakeshore Blvd at the end of Center St in
Mentor; continue straight past Mentor High School and Veteran's Park to
the traffic light, then jog right. Or take 44 S to Lakeshore Blvd and
continue W till the signs.
