I stopped at Prairie Lane gravel company south of Wooster from
12:30-1pm today and scoped the pond from my car parked next to the
office building. I asked permission first.
There seemed to be less open water today than Saturday and many of
the geese were standing on ice. Among the hundreds of Canadian geese,
there were six N. white-fronted geese over in one corner. On the
hillside among the honkers, there was a single cackling goose. It was
quite obvious with the Canadians all around it. There were no white
geese at all while I was there. In addition to geese, there were
many mallards and a few black ducks and I found one pintail. Randy Rowe
