Today was very interesting. I watched from 7:30-10:00, and quit at 10:00
because movement had totally died. Movement this morning was to the east.
Around 11:00 a large movement of gulls began and this time they were all
heading west. Ring-bills dominated the morning and herrings in the
afternoon. I had one great black-backed in the morning, 161 in the
afternoon. Wind direction did not change. The only change I saw between
the morning and afternoon was that the barometer was dropping more rapidly
in the afternoon. I have separated totals by morning and afternoon.
Still not a lot of waterfowl other that two large groups of Canada geese.
In the morning there was an Iceland gull and in the afternoon, 1 glaucous
and 3 lesser black-backed gulls. Also of note were Bonaparte's gulls.
They're the first I've seen here since late November.
