First off, the hoary redpoll was not seen today. I only saw two common
redpolls the entire day.
The ice was up against the shoreline so the birds were further out. Again
there were a lot of red-breasted mergansers and gulls moving today. The
gulls were heading east overhead at treetop height. The only gull of note
was a first cycle Thayer's gull. The first big flocks of cormorants were
seen today.
