Saw first of year Rose-breasted Grosbeak (male) at the feeder! Great pick-
me-up for a dreary, rainy day.
Also saw female Blue-bird with nesting materials sitting on top of one of
the nest boxes while the male flew around. Other notables included hearing
a chipping sparrow and seeing:
Cardinals
Blue Jays
Song Sparrows
Mourning Doves
Chickadees
Tufted Titmice
Pine Siskins (still)
Gold Finches
House Finches
Downey Woodpecker
Hairy Woodpeckers
Dark-eyed Juncos
Red-bellied Woodpecker
White-breasted Nuthatch
and Robins
Sadly, I also found a robin's sized egg (but this was white) sitting under
one bird feeder pierced. Not sure how it got there. I think something
carried it there. Felt heavy but I can see yellow in the pierced hole.
Thanks,
