Greetings all -
I just received a call from Bob Hinkle (4:30 p.m.) who has just found nearly 20 CATTLE EGRETS on recently mowed grass along Canal Road/East 49th Street, within the fenced property of the Canal Road Wastewater Treatment Plant. This is surely a HIGH COUNT for Cuyahoga County. This location is south of Cleveland proper by a few miles. The wastewater treatment plant is just north of Route 17 (Granger Road) and immediately to the west of I-77 N/S. From the north, take I-77 south and take exit 157 for Route 21, then turn right (north) on Canal Road. From the south, take I-77 North and take exit 156 for Route 21/17. Turn right on Route 17 (Granger Road), then left (north) on 21, then left on Canal Road. The wastewater treatment plant lies directly beside the freeway.
